How To Install openvswitch-common on Kali Linux

What is openvswitch-common
openvswitch-common is:
Open vSwitch is a production quality, multilayer, software-based, Ethernet virtual switch. It is designed to enable massive network automation through programmatic extension, while still supporting standard management interfaces and protocols (e.g. NetFlow, IPFIX, sFlow, SPAN, RSPAN, CLI, LACP, 802.1ag). In addition, it is designed to support distribution across multiple physical servers similar to VMware’s vNetwork distributed vswitch or Cisco’s Nexus 1000V.
openvswitch-common provides components required by both openvswitch-switch and openvswitch-testcontroller.
There are three methods to install openvswitch-common on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install openvswitch-common Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install openvswitch-common using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install openvswitch-commonInstall openvswitch-common Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install openvswitch-common using apt by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install openvswitch-common using aptitude by running the following command:

To uninstall only the openvswitch-common package we can use the following command:

To uninstall openvswitch-common and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove openvswitch-commonRemove openvswitch-common Configurations and Data
To remove openvswitch-common configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge openvswitch-commonRemove openvswitch-common configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove openvswitch-common configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
