How To Install openni-utils on Ubuntu 22.04

on Ubuntu 22.04.
What is openni-utils
openni-utils is:
OpenNI is a framework for getting data to support ‘Natural Interaction’, i.e. skeleton tracking, gesture tracking, and similar ways of getting data from humans. OpenNI provides the interface for physical devices and for middleware components. The API enables modules to be registered in the OpenNI framework, which then produce sensory data. OpenNI also allows selection of different hardware and middleware modules.
This package provides a number of related utilities for debugging, testing, and view the results of the sensor modules.
There are three methods to install openni-utils
on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get

and aptitude

Update apt database with apt-get

After updating apt database, We can install openni-utils
using apt-get

After updating apt database, We can install openni-utils

Install openni-utils Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install openni-utils
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install openni-utils
How To Uninstall openni-utils on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the openni-utils
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove openni-utils
Uninstall openni-utils And Its Dependencies
To uninstall openni-utils
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove openni-utils
Remove openni-utils Configurations and Data
To remove openni-utils
configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge openni-utils
