How To Install octave-io on Debian 11

on Debian 11.
What is octave-io
octave-io is:
This package provides functions to input/output data in different formats in Octave, a numerical computation software. It contains functions to add variables to existing save files (append_save), read and write matrixes to a text file (dlmwrite, csvread, csvwrite) and read Excel spreadsheet (xlsread) and OpenDocument spreadsheet (odsread).
This Octave add-on package is part of the Octave-Forge project.
There are three methods to install octave-io
on Debian 11. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install octave-io Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install octave-io
using apt-get

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude

After updating apt database, We can install octave-io
using aptitude

sudo aptitude -y install octave-io
How To Uninstall octave-io on Debian 11
To uninstall only the octave-io
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove octave-io

To uninstall octave-io
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 11, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove octave-io
Remove octave-io Configurations and Data
To remove octave-io
configuration and data from Debian 11 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge octave-io
