How To Install octave-brain2mesh on Ubuntu 22.04

The Brain2Mesh toolbox provides a streamlined matlab function to convert a segmented brain volumes and surfaces into a high-quality multi-layered tetrahedral brain/full head mesh. Typical inputs include segmentation outputs from SPM, FreeSurfer, FSL etc. This tool does not handle the segmentation of MRI scans, but examples of how commonly encountered segmented datasets can be used to create meshes can be found in the package named brain2mesh-demos.
There are three methods to install octave-brain2mesh on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install octave-brain2mesh Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install octave-brain2mesh using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install octave-brain2mesh
Install octave-brain2mesh Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install octave-brain2mesh using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install octave-brain2mesh
Install octave-brain2mesh Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install octave-brain2mesh using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install octave-brain2mesh

To remove octave-brain2mesh configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge octave-brain2mesh
Remove octave-brain2mesh configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove octave-brain2mesh configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge octave-brain2mesh
