How To Install octave-audio on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install octave-audio on Kali Linux.
What is octave-audio
octave-audio is:
This package provides MIDI functionality for Octave, a numerical computation software. Three types of functions are provided: (1) functions that directly allow opening, sending and receiving MIDI messages, (2) functions that provide a layer on top of the device functions for using MIDI controls, and (3) basic functions that allow read and write of MIDI files.
This Octave add-on package is part of the Octave-Forge project.
There are three methods to install octave-audio on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install octave-audio Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install octave-audio using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install octave-audioInstall octave-audio Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install octave-audio using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install octave-audioInstall octave-audio Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install octave-audio using aptitude by running the following command:

To uninstall only the octave-audio package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove octave-audioUninstall octave-audio And Its Dependencies
To uninstall octave-audio and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove octave-audioRemove octave-audio Configurations and Data
To remove octave-audio configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge octave-audioRemove octave-audio configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove octave-audio configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge octave-audioDependencies
