How To Install node-solid-rest on Ubuntu 22.04

node-solid-rest is:
Solid REST sits between auth modules like solid-auth-client and solid-auth-cli to handle requests for file:// and app:// URIs and then uses the appropriate storage module to do the work.
Solid (Social Linked Data) is a web decentralization project with the aims to radically change the way web applications work by developing a platform for linked-data applications that are completely decentralized and fully under users’ control rather than controlled by other entities.
This package contains Solid REST usable with Nodejs.
There are three methods to install node-solid-rest
on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install node-solid-rest Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install node-solid-rest
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install node-solid-rest
Install node-solid-rest Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install node-solid-rest
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install node-solid-rest
Install node-solid-rest Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install node-solid-rest
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install node-solid-rest
How To Uninstall node-solid-rest on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the node-solid-rest
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove node-solid-rest

and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove node-solid-rest
Remove node-solid-rest Configurations and Data
To remove node-solid-rest
configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge node-solid-rest
Remove node-solid-rest configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove node-solid-rest
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge node-solid-rest
