How To Install node-mapnik on Debian 9

on Debian 9.
What is node-mapnik
node-mapnik is:
node-mapnik provides bindings to the Mapnik tile rendering library.
Mapnik is an OpenSource C++ toolkit for developing GIS (Geographic Information Systems) applications. At the core is a C++ shared library providing algorithms/patterns for spatial data access and visualization.
Node.js is an event-based server-side javascript engine.
There are three methods to install node-mapnik
on Debian 9. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install node-mapnik Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install node-mapnik
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install node-mapnik
Install node-mapnik Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install node-mapnik
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install node-mapnik
Install node-mapnik Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install node-mapnik
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install node-mapnik
How To Uninstall node-mapnik on Debian 9
To uninstall only the node-mapnik
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove node-mapnik
Uninstall node-mapnik And Its Dependencies
To uninstall node-mapnik
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 9, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove node-mapnik
Remove node-mapnik Configurations and Data
To remove node-mapnik
configuration and data from Debian 9 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge node-mapnik
Remove node-mapnik configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove node-mapnik
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge node-mapnik
