How To Install media-types on Ubuntu 22.04

What is media-types
media-types is:
This package installs the configuration file /etc/mime.types, that lists standard media types (originally known as “MIME” types) and their usual file extension. This provides a simple way for programs to have a first guess at a file’s content. On standard Debian desktop systems, one will also find more sophisticated tools, for instance provided by the “file” and “xdg-utils” packages.
The /etc/mime.types file is compiled by hand using mostly information provided by the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA).
There are three methods to install media-types
on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get

and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

How To Uninstall media-types on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the media-types
package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove media-types
Remove media-types Configurations and Data
To remove media-types
configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge media-types
