How To Install mate-utils on Ubuntu 22.04

In this tutorial we learn how to install mate-utils on Ubuntu 22.04.
What is mate-utils
mate-utils is:
This package contains all the tools bundled as MATE utilities:
- mate-disk-usage-analyzer, a disk usage analyser
- mate-dictionary, a program which can look up the definition of words over the internet (including a panel applet to do the same)
- mate-search-tool, with which one can find files by name or content
- mate-system-log, a log viewing application
- mate-screenshot, a tool to take desktop screenshots and save them into a file
There are three methods to install mate-utils on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install mate-utils Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install mate-utils using apt-get by running the following command:

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

After updating apt database, We can install mate-utils using apt by running the following command:

Install mate-utils Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install mate-utils using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install mate-utils
