This package contains the GNU mailutils’ MDA tools: mda, putmail and lmtpd. It is capable of speaking POP3, IMAP, mbox, MH, Maildir and dotmail.

mda – the GNU local mail delivery agent. putmail – incorporate mail to a mailbox. lmtpd – local mail transfer protocol daemon.

There are three methods to install mailutils-mda on Debian 11. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
