How To Install libsvtav1-dev on Ubuntu 22.04

The Scalable Video Technology for AV1 (SVT-AV1 Encoder and Decoder) is an AV1-compliant encoder/decoder library core. The SVT-AV1 encoder development is a work-in-progress targeting performance levels applicable to both VOD and Live encoding / transcoding video applications. The SVT-AV1 decoder implementation is targeting future codec research activities.
This package provides the development files for libsvtav1dec and libsvtav1enc.
There are three methods to install libsvtav1-dev on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libsvtav1-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libsvtav1-dev using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libsvtav1-dev
Install libsvtav1-dev Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libsvtav1-dev using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libsvtav1-dev
Install libsvtav1-dev Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libsvtav1-dev using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libsvtav1-dev
How To Uninstall libsvtav1-dev on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the libsvtav1-dev package we can use the following command:

To remove libsvtav1-dev configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libsvtav1-dev
Remove libsvtav1-dev configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libsvtav1-dev configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libsvtav1-dev
