How To Install librun-parts-perl on Ubuntu 22.04
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install librun-parts-perl
on Ubuntu 22.04.
What is librun-parts-perl
librun-parts-perl is:
run-parts and hence Run::Parts runs all the executable files named within constraints described below, found in the given directory. Other files and directories are silently ignored.
Additionally they can just print the names of the all matching files (not limited to executables, but ignores blacklisted files like e.g. backup files), but don’t actually run them.
Run::Parts contains two backend implementation. Run::Parts::Debian actually uses /bin/run-parts and Run::Parts::Perl is a pure Perl implementation of a basic set of run-parts’ functionality.
On Debian Run::Parts uses Run::Parts::Debian by default. But you can also choose any of the backends explicitly.
There are three methods to install librun-parts-perl
on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Update apt database with apt-get

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude

How To Uninstall librun-parts-perl on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the librun-parts-perl
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove librun-parts-perl

To uninstall librun-parts-perl
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove librun-parts-perl

To remove librun-parts-perl
configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge librun-parts-perl
