How To Install librte-net21 on Debian 11
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install librte-net21 on Debian 11.
What is librte-net21
librte-net21 is:
DPDK is a set of libraries for fast packet processing. Applications run in user-space and communicate directly with dedicated network interfaces.
This package contains the runtime libraries for librte-net.
The librte-net library is a collection of IP protocol definitions and convenience macros. It is based on code from the FreeBSD* IP stack and contains protocol numbers (for use in IP headers), IP-related macros, IPv4/IPv6 header structures and TCP, UDP and SCTP header structures.
There are three methods to install librte-net21 on Debian 11. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install librte-net21 Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install librte-net21 using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install librte-net21
Install librte-net21 Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install librte-net21 using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install librte-net21
Install librte-net21 Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install librte-net21 using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install librte-net21
How To Uninstall librte-net21 on Debian 11
To uninstall only the librte-net21 package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove librte-net21
Uninstall librte-net21 And Its Dependencies
To uninstall librte-net21 and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 11, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove librte-net21
Remove librte-net21 Configurations and Data
To remove librte-net21 configuration and data from Debian 11 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge librte-net21
Remove librte-net21 configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove librte-net21 configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
