How To Install libpam-fscrypt on Kali Linux

What is libpam-fscrypt
libpam-fscrypt is:
fscrypt is a high-level tool for the management of Linux filesystem encryption. This tool manages metadata, key generation, key wrapping, PAM integration, and provides a uniform interface for creating and modifying encrypted directories.
This PAM module can be used to unlock one or more directories upon user login and then lock those directories when the user ends their session.
There are three methods to install libpam-fscrypt
on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude

Install libpam-fscrypt Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libpam-fscrypt
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libpam-fscrypt

Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libpam-fscrypt
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libpam-fscrypt
Install libpam-fscrypt Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libpam-fscrypt
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libpam-fscrypt
How To Uninstall libpam-fscrypt on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the libpam-fscrypt
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libpam-fscrypt
Uninstall libpam-fscrypt And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libpam-fscrypt
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libpam-fscrypt
