How To Install libcoap2-doc on Ubuntu 22.04

In this tutorial we learn how to install libcoap2-doc on Ubuntu 22.04.
What is libcoap2-doc
libcoap2-doc is:
Lightweight application-protocol for devices that are constrained their resources such as computing power, RF range, memory, bandwidth, or network packet sizes. This protocol, CoAP, is developed in the IETF working group “CoRE”, http://6lowapp.net and was standardized in RFC 7252.
This package contains the Doxygen generated library API HTML documentation for libcoap. They can be accessed by open /usr/share/doc/libcoap2-doc/html/index.html.
There are three methods to install libcoap2-doc on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libcoap2-doc Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libcoap2-doc using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libcoap2-doc
Install libcoap2-doc Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libcoap2-doc using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libcoap2-doc
Install libcoap2-doc Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libcoap2-doc using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libcoap2-doc
How To Uninstall libcoap2-doc on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the libcoap2-doc package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libcoap2-doc
Uninstall libcoap2-doc And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libcoap2-doc and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libcoap2-doc
Remove libcoap2-doc Configurations and Data
To remove libcoap2-doc configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libcoap2-doc
Remove libcoap2-doc configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libcoap2-doc configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libcoap2-doc
