How To Install libbmusb2 on Debian 9
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install libbmusb2
on Debian 9.
What is libbmusb2
libbmusb2 is:
bmusb is a userspace driver for Blackmagic’s USB3 series of video capture and playback cards (although only the capture part is currently supported), in particular the Intensity Shuttle (HDMI) and UltraStudio SDI cards. These are not currently served by Blackmagic’s own Linux drivers.
bmusb is not API- or ABI-compatible with Blackmagic’s drivers.
This package contains the shared library.

Update apt database with apt-get

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude

After updating apt database, We can install libbmusb2
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libbmusb2
How To Uninstall libbmusb2 on Debian 9
To uninstall only the libbmusb2
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libbmusb2
Uninstall libbmusb2 And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libbmusb2
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 9, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libbmusb2
Remove libbmusb2 Configurations and Data
To remove libbmusb2
configuration and data from Debian 9 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libbmusb2
