How To Install libbluray1 on Debian 9

In this tutorial we learn how to install libbluray1
on Debian 9.
What is libbluray1
libbluray1 is:
libbluray is an open-source library designed for Blu-Ray Discs playback for media players, like VLC or MPlayer. This research project is developed by an international team of developers from Doom9. libbluray integrates navigation, playlist parsing, menus, and BD-J.
NB: Most commercial Blu-Ray are restricted by AACS or BD+ technologies and this library is not enough to playback those discs.
This package provides the shared library.
There are three methods to install libbluray1
on Debian 9. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libbluray1 Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libbluray1
using apt-get

After updating apt database, We can install libbluray1

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude

After updating apt database, We can install libbluray1
using aptitude

How To Uninstall libbluray1 on Debian 9
To uninstall only the libbluray1
