In this tutorial we learn how to install libapache2-mod-uwsgi on Debian 9.

What is libapache2-mod-uwsgi

libapache2-mod-uwsgi is:

uWSGI presents a complete stack for networked/clustered web applications, implementing message/object passing, caching, RPC and process management. It uses the uwsgi protocol for all the networking/interprocess communications.

This package provides Apache2 module for communicating with uWSGI.

This is the first module developed, it is stable but a bit hacky (it does not fully use the Apache2 API).

There are three methods to install libapache2-mod-uwsgi on Debian 9. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install libapache2-mod-uwsgi Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install libapache2-mod-uwsgi using apt-get by running the following command:

Install libapache2-mod-uwsgi Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install libapache2-mod-uwsgi using apt by running the following command:

Install libapache2-mod-uwsgi Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install libapache2-mod-uwsgi using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install libapache2-mod-uwsgi

How To Uninstall libapache2-mod-uwsgi on Debian 9

To uninstall only the libapache2-mod-uwsgi package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove libapache2-mod-uwsgi

Uninstall libapache2-mod-uwsgi And Its Dependencies

To uninstall libapache2-mod-uwsgi and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 9, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove libapache2-mod-uwsgi

Remove libapache2-mod-uwsgi Configurations and Data

To remove libapache2-mod-uwsgi configuration and data from Debian 9 we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge libapache2-mod-uwsgi

Remove libapache2-mod-uwsgi configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove libapache2-mod-uwsgi configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libapache2-mod-uwsgi
