How To Install hotswap-gui on Debian 9

on Debian 9.
What is hotswap-gui
hotswap-gui is:
Hotswap is a utility to register and deregister hotswappable IDE hardware. It is written to be used on Laptops with some sort of hardware bay to remove the module from the machine without rebooting it. eg. Dell Laptops.
Note that this utility is not required to insert or remove batteries or floppy disk drives; only for IDE devices.
This package includes the Motif front-end to the command line tool.
There are three methods to install hotswap-gui
on Debian 9. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install hotswap-gui Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install hotswap-gui
using apt-get

using the following command.

After updating apt database, We can install hotswap-gui

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.

After updating apt database, We can install hotswap-gui
using aptitude

How To Uninstall hotswap-gui on Debian 9
To uninstall only the hotswap-gui
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove hotswap-gui
Uninstall hotswap-gui And Its Dependencies
To uninstall hotswap-gui
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 9, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove hotswap-gui
Remove hotswap-gui Configurations and Data

configuration and data from Debian 9 we can use the following command:
