How To Install gr-limesdr on Debian 12

In this tutorial we learn how to install gr-limesdr
on Debian 12.
What is gr-limesdr
gr-limesdr is:
LimeSDR is a low cost, open source software defined radio (SDR) platform that can be used to support just about any type of wireless communication standard.
Currently this plugin supports LimeSDR-USB and LimeSDR-Mini boards.
The gr-limesdr blocks for GnuRadio can be used to create flowgraphs that interface LimeSDR devices through liblimesuite.
This package contains the development files.
There are three methods to install gr-limesdr
on Debian 12. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install gr-limesdr Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install gr-limesdr
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install gr-limesdr

Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install gr-limesdr
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install gr-limesdr
Install gr-limesdr Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install gr-limesdr
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install gr-limesdr
How To Uninstall gr-limesdr on Debian 12
To uninstall only the gr-limesdr
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove gr-limesdr
Uninstall gr-limesdr And Its Dependencies
To uninstall gr-limesdr
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 12, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove gr-limesdr
Remove gr-limesdr Configurations and Data
To remove gr-limesdr
configuration and data from Debian 12 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge gr-limesdr
Remove gr-limesdr configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove gr-limesdr
