How To Install gourmand on Ubuntu 22.04

What is gourmand
gourmand is:
Gourmet Recipe Manager is a gtk-based application to store, organize and search recipes.
Features:
- Makes it easy to create shopping lists from recipes.
- Imports recipes from a number of sources, including MealMaster and MasterCook archives and several popular websites.
- Exports recipes as PDF files, plain text, MealMaster files, HTML web pages, and a custom XML format for exchange with other Gourmet users.
- Supports linking images with recipes.
- Can calculate nutritional information for recipes based on the ingredients.
There are three methods to install gourmand
on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install gourmand Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install gourmand
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install gourmand

Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install gourmand
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install gourmand
Install gourmand Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install gourmand
using aptitude

sudo aptitude -y install gourmand
How To Uninstall gourmand on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the gourmand
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove gourmand
Uninstall gourmand And Its Dependencies
To uninstall gourmand
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove gourmand
Remove gourmand Configurations and Data
To remove gourmand
configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge gourmand
