How To Install fonts-amiga on Ubuntu 22.04

What is fonts-amiga
fonts-amiga is:
Inspired by the article Raster CRT Typography (According to DEC) by Norbert Landsteiner, these fonts were reworked on some old pixel versions of the Commodore 64 and Amiga Workbench. The author had done years ago to include variable font axes for the size of the horizontal scanlines and the amount of horizontal bleed of the pixels due to the phosphor latency found in CRT displays.
This is the Amiga Workbench font.
There are three methods to install fonts-amiga
on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install fonts-amiga Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install fonts-amiga
using apt-get

sudo apt-get -y install fonts-amiga

Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install fonts-amiga

sudo apt -y install fonts-amiga
Install fonts-amiga Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install fonts-amiga
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install fonts-amiga
How To Uninstall fonts-amiga on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the fonts-amiga
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove fonts-amiga
Uninstall fonts-amiga And Its Dependencies
To uninstall fonts-amiga
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove fonts-amiga
Remove fonts-amiga Configurations and Data
To remove fonts-amiga
configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge fonts-amiga
Remove fonts-amiga configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove fonts-amiga
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge fonts-amiga
