dnscap-dev is:

dnscap is a network capture utility designed specifically for DNS traffic. It produces binary data in pcap(3) format. This utility is similar to tcpdump(1), but has a number of features tailored to DNS transactions and protocol options.

This package contains the development files.

There are three methods to install dnscap-dev on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install dnscap-dev Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update
