How To Install cl-plus-ssl on Debian 11

In this tutorial we learn how to install cl-plus-ssl
on Debian 11.
What is cl-plus-ssl
cl-plus-ssl is:
CL+SSL is portable code based on CFFI and gray streams. It defines its own libssl BIO method, so that SSL I/O can be written over portable Lisp streams instead of bypassing the streams and sending data over Unix file descriptors directly. (But the traditional approach is still used if possible.)
There are three methods to install cl-plus-ssl
on Debian 11. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install cl-plus-ssl Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install cl-plus-ssl
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install cl-plus-ssl
Install cl-plus-ssl Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install cl-plus-ssl
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install cl-plus-ssl
Install cl-plus-ssl Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install cl-plus-ssl
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install cl-plus-ssl
How To Uninstall cl-plus-ssl on Debian 11
To uninstall only the cl-plus-ssl
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove cl-plus-ssl
Uninstall cl-plus-ssl And Its Dependencies
To uninstall cl-plus-ssl
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 11, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove cl-plus-ssl
Remove cl-plus-ssl Configurations and Data
To remove cl-plus-ssl
configuration and data from Debian 11 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge cl-plus-ssl
Remove cl-plus-ssl configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove cl-plus-ssl
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge cl-plus-ssl
