In this tutorial we learn how to install cloudkitty-api on Ubuntu 22.04.

What is cloudkitty-api

cloudkitty-api is:

CloudKitty aims at filling the gap between metrics collection systems like ceilometer and a billing system.

Every metrics are collected, aggregated and processed through different rating modules. You can then query CloudKitty’s storage to retrieve processed data and easily generate reports.

Most parts of CloudKitty are modular so you can easily extend the base code to address your particular use case.

This package contains the Cloudkitty API server.

There are three methods to install cloudkitty-api on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install cloudkitty-api Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install cloudkitty-api using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install cloudkitty-api

Install cloudkitty-api Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install cloudkitty-api using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install cloudkitty-api

Install cloudkitty-api Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install cloudkitty-api using aptitude by running the following command:

How To Uninstall cloudkitty-api on Ubuntu 22.04

To uninstall only the cloudkitty-api package we can use the following command:
