How To Install ceph-mgr-rook on Ubuntu 22.04

What is ceph-mgr-rook
ceph-mgr-rook is:
Ceph is a massively scalable, open-source, distributed storage system that runs on commodity hardware and delivers object, block and file system storage.
This package contains the rook module for ceph-mgr’s orchestration functionality, to allow ceph-mgr to install and configure ceph using Rook.
There are three methods to install ceph-mgr-rook on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install ceph-mgr-rook Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install ceph-mgr-rook using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install ceph-mgr-rook
Install ceph-mgr-rook Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install ceph-mgr-rook using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install ceph-mgr-rook
Install ceph-mgr-rook Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install ceph-mgr-rook using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install ceph-mgr-rook
How To Uninstall ceph-mgr-rook on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the ceph-mgr-rook package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove ceph-mgr-rook
Uninstall ceph-mgr-rook And Its Dependencies
To uninstall ceph-mgr-rook and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove ceph-mgr-rook
Remove ceph-mgr-rook Configurations and Data
To remove ceph-mgr-rook configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge ceph-mgr-rook
Remove ceph-mgr-rook configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove ceph-mgr-rook configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge ceph-mgr-rook
