How To Install libbase1 on Ubuntu 22.04

What is libbase1
libbase1 is:
Pktools is a collection of programs to perform operations, mostly on raster geolocated images. It heavily relies on the Geospatial Data Abstraction Library (GDAL) and OGR. The programs are similar to the GDAL tools (gdalinfo, gdal_translate, gdal_merge, …) and some of the functionalities provided in pktools already exist in the GDAL tools.
All utilities in pktools use command line options and have a built in help, and include more than thirty binaries to edit, change, crop, classify, compare, dump, fill, enhance images and many other common operations useful in the remote sensing field of image analysis.
This package contains the libbase shared library.
There are three methods to install libbase1 on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libbase1 Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libbase1 using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libbase1
Install libbase1 Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libbase1 using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libbase1
Install libbase1 Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libbase1 using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libbase1
How To Uninstall libbase1 on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the libbase1 package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libbase1
Uninstall libbase1 And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libbase1 and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libbase1
Remove libbase1 Configurations and Data
To remove libbase1 configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libbase1
Remove libbase1 configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
