khmer is a library and suite of command line tools for working with DNA sequence. It is primarily aimed at short-read sequencing data such as that produced by the Illumina platform. khmer takes a k-mer-centric approach to sequence analysis, hence the name.

There are three methods to install khmer on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install khmer Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install khmer using apt-get by running the following command:
