How To Install intltool on Ubuntu 22.04
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install intltool
on Ubuntu 22.04.
What is intltool
intltool is:
Automatically extracts translatable strings from oaf, glade, bonobo ui, nautilus theme and other XML files into the po files.
Automatically merges translations from po files back into .oaf files (encoding to be 7-bit clean). The merging mechanism can also be extended to support other types of XML files.
There are three methods to install intltool
on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install intltool Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install intltool
using apt-get

configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge intltool
