How To Install i8c on Ubuntu 22.04

In this tutorial we learn how to install i8c
on Ubuntu 22.04.
What is i8c
i8c is:
Infinity is a platform-independent system for executables and shared libraries to export information to software development tools such as debuggers.
In Infinity, executable and shared library files contain Infinity notes in addition to their regular contents. Each Infinity note contains a function encoded in a platform-independent instruction set that note-consuming tools can load and execute.
This package provides I8C, a compiler for creating object files containing Infinity notes. This package also provides I8X, an execution environment that can be used to create unit tests for compiled notes.
There are three methods to install i8c
on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install i8c Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install i8c
using apt-get

sudo apt-get -y install i8c

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude

After updating apt database, We can install i8c

How To Uninstall i8c on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the i8c
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove i8c
Uninstall i8c And Its Dependencies
To uninstall i8c
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove i8c
Remove i8c Configurations and Data
To remove i8c
configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge i8c
Remove i8c configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
