How To Install httrack on Ubuntu 22.04
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install httrack
on Ubuntu 22.04.
What is httrack
httrack is:
HTTrack is an offline browser utility, allowing you to download a World Wide website from the Internet to a local directory, building recursively all directories, getting html, images, and other files from the server to your computer.
HTTrack arranges the original site’s relative link-structure. Simply open a page of the “mirrored” website in your browser, and you can browse the site from link to link, as if you were viewing it online. HTTrack can also update an existing mirrored site, and resume interrupted downloads. HTTrack is fully configurable, and has an integrated help system.
There are three methods to install httrack
on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install httrack Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install httrack
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install httrack
Install httrack Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install httrack
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install httrack
Install httrack Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install httrack
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install httrack
How To Uninstall httrack on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the httrack
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove httrack
Uninstall httrack And Its Dependencies
To uninstall httrack
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove httrack
Remove httrack Configurations and Data
To remove httrack
configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge httrack
Remove httrack configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
