How To Install dssp on Ubuntu 22.04

What is dssp
dssp is:
DSSP is an application you use to assign the secondary structure of a protein based on its solved three dimensional (3D) structure.
This version (4.0) of DSSP is a rewrite that writes annotated mmCIF files by default but can still produce the older dssp format. New is also the support of PP helices.
There are three methods to install dssp on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install dssp Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install dssp using apt-get by running the following command:

After updating apt database, We can install dssp using apt by running the following command:

Install dssp Using aptitude

How To Uninstall dssp on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the dssp package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove dssp
Uninstall dssp And Its Dependencies
To uninstall dssp and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove dssp
Remove dssp Configurations and Data
To remove dssp configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge dssp
Remove dssp configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
