In this tutorial we learn how to install apparix on Ubuntu 22.04.

What is apparix

apparix is:

Fast file system navigation by bookmarking directories and jumping to a bookmark directly. Apparix integrates regular bookmarks with CDPATH-style bookmarks. Subdirectory specification and (bash) tab completion add further power.

Apparix maintains a mapping of user-defined marks (hopefully short and descriptive) to file system locations and is wrapped in other commands to either jump to those locations or to invoke edit/copy/move commands involving them.

There are three methods to install apparix on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install apparix Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install apparix using apt-get by running the following command:

How To Uninstall apparix on Ubuntu 22.04

sudo apt-get -y autoremove apparix

Remove apparix Configurations and Data

To remove apparix configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge apparix
