How To Install qpxtool on Ubuntu 22.04

on Ubuntu 22.04.
What is qpxtool
qpxtool is:
QPxTool gives you access to all available Quality Checks (Q-Checks) on written and blank media, that are available for your drive. This will help you to find the right media and the optimized writing speed for your hardware, which will increase the chance for a long data lifetime.
QPxTool depends on the used drive, not all drives are able to read the Q-Checks and not all of them are supported by QPxTool. Currently, most newer drives of LiteOn, NEC, Pioneer and Plextor are supported.
There are three methods to install qpxtool
on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install qpxtool Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install qpxtool
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install qpxtool
Install qpxtool Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install qpxtool
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install qpxtool
Install qpxtool Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install qpxtool
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install qpxtool
How To Uninstall qpxtool on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the qpxtool
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove qpxtool
Uninstall qpxtool And Its Dependencies
To uninstall qpxtool
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove qpxtool
Remove qpxtool Configurations and Data
To remove qpxtool
configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge qpxtool
Remove qpxtool configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove qpxtool
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge qpxtool
