What is qashctl

qashctl is:

QasTools is a collection of desktop applications for the Linux sound system ALSA.

The applications included are:

  • QasConfig - browser for the ALSA configuration tree
  • QasHctl - mixer for ALSA’s High level Control Interface
  • QasMixer - desktop mixer with features similar to alsamixer

QasHctl is a mixer application for ALSA’s “High level Control Interface”. This interface allows more complex interaction than the “Simple Mixer Interface” which is used by alsamixer and QasMixer.

There are three methods to install qashctl on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install qashctl Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install qashctl using apt-get by running the following command:
