What is pyro4

pyro4 is:

Pyro (PYthon Remote Object) is an easy to use and powerful distributed object system for Python. In a distributed object system, clients send requests to distant servers, which owns the remote objects. Pyro simplifies a lot the creation of clients and servers, and has among its features:

  • dynamic and static proxies for all remote method invocations,
  • a naming service which keeps record of the location of objects,
  • mobile objects support: clients and servers can pass objects around,
  • exceptions that occur in the remote object is raised on the client too,
  • multithreaded server support to handle multiple requests simultaneously.

This metapackage depends on the on the Python variant the user needs.

There are three methods to install pyro4 on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install pyro4 Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install pyro4 using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install pyro4

Install pyro4 Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install pyro4 using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install pyro4

Install pyro4 Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install pyro4 using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install pyro4

How To Uninstall pyro4 on Ubuntu 22.04

To uninstall only the pyro4 package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove pyro4

Uninstall pyro4 And Its Dependencies

To uninstall pyro4 and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove pyro4

Remove pyro4 Configurations and Data

To remove pyro4 configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge pyro4

Remove pyro4 configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove pyro4 configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge pyro4
