pyecm is a Python program to factor numbers using the Elliptic Curve Method (ECM). It is relatively fast in that it can quickly factors numbers up to 50 digits.

Because it is written in Python, pyecm is very portable. It is also fairly easy to use. Use of python-gmpy and/or python-psyco will speed it up immensely.

After updating apt database, We can install pyecm using apt by running the following command:

Install pyecm Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install pyecm using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install pyecm

How To Uninstall pyecm on Ubuntu 22.04

To uninstall only the pyecm package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove pyecm

Uninstall pyecm And Its Dependencies

To uninstall pyecm and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove pyecm

Remove pyecm Configurations and Data

To remove pyecm configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge pyecm

Remove pyecm configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove pyecm configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
