Prosody is a modern XMPP communication server. It aims to be easy to set up and configure, and efficient with system resources. Additionally, for developers it aims to be easy to extend and give a flexible system on which to rapidly develop added functionality, or prototype new protocols.

There are three methods to install prosody on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install prosody Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install prosody using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install prosody

After updating apt database, We can install prosody using apt by running the following command:
