In this tutorial we learn how to install pktanon on Ubuntu 22.04.

What is pktanon

pktanon is:

PKtAnon performs network trace anonymization, e.g. on pcap files. It is highly configurable by using anonymization profiles. Anonymization profiles allow for mapping of arbitrary anonymization primitives to protocol attributes, thus providing high flexibility and easy usability. A huge number of anonymization primitives and network protocols are supported and ready to use for online and offline anonymization.

There are three methods to install pktanon on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install pktanon Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install pktanon using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install pktanon
