How To Install pitivi on Ubuntu 22.04

What is pitivi
pitivi is:
GStreamer is a streaming media framework, based on graphs of filters which operate on media data. Applications using this library can do anything from real-time sound processing to playing videos, and just about anything else media-related. Its plugin-based architecture means that new data types or processing capabilities can be added simply by installing new plug-ins.
PiTiVi allows users to easily edit audio/video projects based on the GStreamer framework. PiTIVi provides several ways of creating and modifying a timeline. Ranging from a simple synopsis view (a-la iMovie) to the full-blown editing view (aka Complex View) which puts you in complete control of your editing.
There are three methods to install pitivi on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install pitivi Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install pitivi using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install pitivi
Install pitivi Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install pitivi using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install pitivi
Install pitivi Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install pitivi using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install pitivi
How To Uninstall pitivi on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the pitivi package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove pitivi
Uninstall pitivi And Its Dependencies
To uninstall pitivi and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove pitivi
Remove pitivi Configurations and Data
To remove pitivi configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge pitivi
Remove pitivi configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove pitivi configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge pitivi
