In this tutorial we learn how to install pgcluu on Ubuntu 22.04.

What is pgcluu

pgcluu is:

pgCluu is a PostgreSQL performance monitoring and auditing tool. It is a Perl program used to perform a full audit of PostgreSQL cluster and system performance. It is divided in three parts:

pgcluu_collectd: collector used to grab statistics of the PostgreSQL cluster using the psql command line utility and sar from the sysstat package

pgcluu: generates static HTML output containing charts and graphs

pgcluu.cgi: generates dynamic HTML output containing charts and graphs

There are three methods to install pgcluu on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install pgcluu Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install pgcluu using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install pgcluu

Install pgcluu Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install pgcluu using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install pgcluu

Install pgcluu Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install pgcluu using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install pgcluu

To uninstall only the pgcluu package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove pgcluu

Remove pgcluu Configurations and Data

To remove pgcluu configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge pgcluu

Remove pgcluu configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove pgcluu configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge pgcluu
