How To Install perltidy on Ubuntu 22.04

on Ubuntu 22.04.
What is perltidy
perltidy is:
Perltidy is a Perl script which indents and reformats Perl scripts to make them easier to read.
The formatting can be controlled with command line parameters. The default parameter settings approximately follow the suggestions in the Perl Style Guide.
Perltidy can also generate formatted HTML output from POD, and can even generate colored output in HTML for scripts. See examples at http://perltidy.sourceforge.net/
There are three methods to install perltidy
on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install perltidy Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install perltidy
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install perltidy
Install perltidy Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install perltidy
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install perltidy
Install perltidy Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
