How To Install openpace on Ubuntu 22.04
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install openpace
on Ubuntu 22.04.
What is openpace
openpace is:
OpenPACE implements Extended Access Control (EAC) version 2 as specified in BSI TR-03110. OpenPACE comprises support for the following protocols:
- Password Authenticated Connection Establishment (PACE)
- Terminal Authentication (TA)
- Chip Authentication (CA)
OpenPACE also supports Card Verifiable Certificates (CV Certificates) and signing requests as well as easy to use wrappers for using the established secure channels.
OpenPACE supports all variants of PACE (DH/ECDH, GM/IM), TA (RSASSA-PKCS1-v1_5/RSASSA-PSS/ECDSA), CA (DH/ECDH) and all standardised domain parameters (GFP/ECP).
There are three methods to install openpace
on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install openpace Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install openpace
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install openpace
Install openpace Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install openpace
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install openpace
Install openpace Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install openpace
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install openpace
How To Uninstall openpace on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the openpace
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove openpace
Uninstall openpace And Its Dependencies
To uninstall openpace
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove openpace
Remove openpace Configurations and Data
To remove openpace
configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge openpace
Remove openpace configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove openpace
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge openpace
