How To Install nutcracker on Ubuntu 22.04

on Ubuntu 22.04.
What is nutcracker
nutcracker is:
nutcracker, also known as twemproxy (pronounced “two-em-proxy”), is a fast and lightweight proxy for the memcached and Redis protocols. It was primarily built to reduce the connection count on backend caching servers, but it has a number of features, such as:
- Maintains persistent server connections to backend servers.
- Enables pipelining of requests and responses.
- Supports multiple server pools simultaneously.
- Shard data automatically across multiple servers.
- Supports multiple hashing modes including consistent hashing and distribution.
- High-availability by disabling nodes on failures.
- Observability through stats exposed on stats monitoring port.
There are three methods to install nutcracker
on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install nutcracker Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install nutcracker
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install nutcracker

Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install nutcracker
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install nutcracker
Install nutcracker Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install nutcracker
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install nutcracker
How To Uninstall nutcracker on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the nutcracker
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove nutcracker
Uninstall nutcracker And Its Dependencies
To uninstall nutcracker
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove nutcracker
Remove nutcracker Configurations and Data
To remove nutcracker
configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge nutcracker
Remove nutcracker configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove nutcracker
