In this tutorial we learn how to install mricron on Ubuntu 22.04.

What is mricron

mricron is:

This is a GUI-based visualization and analysis tool for (functional) magnetic resonance imaging. MRIcron can be used to create 2D or 3D renderings of statistical overlay maps on brain anatomy images. Moreover, it aids drawing anatomical regions-of-interest (ROI), or lesion mapping, as well as basic analysis of functional timeseries (e.g. creating plots of peristimulus signal-change).

In addition to ‘mricron’, this package also provides ‘dcm2nii’ that supports converting DICOM and PAR/REC images into the NIfTI format, and ’npm’ for non-parametric data analysis.

There are three methods to install mricron on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install mricron Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

How To Uninstall mricron on Ubuntu 22.04

To uninstall mricron and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove mricron

Remove mricron Configurations and Data

To remove mricron configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge mricron

Remove mricron configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
