What is miredo

miredo is:

The Teredo IPv6 tunneling protocol encapsulates IPv6 packets into UDP/IPv4 datagrams, to allow hosts behind NAT devices to access the IPv6 Internet.

Miredo is a Teredo client (as per RFC 4380): it can provide IPv6 connectivity to a dual-stack IPv6/IPv4 host even if it is located behind a NAT. It can also operate as a Teredo relay which forwards IPv6 packets between the IPv6 Internet and remote Teredo clients.

There are three methods to install miredo on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install miredo Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install miredo using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install miredo

Install miredo Using apt

sudo apt-get -y autoremove miredo

Remove miredo Configurations and Data

To remove miredo configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge miredo
