masqmail is:

Masqmail is an MTA (mail transport agent) for hosts with no permanent network connection, such as home network servers or notebook computers. It has special support for connections to different Internet Service Providers.

In these cases, Masqmail is a slim replacement for full-blown MTAs such as Sendmail, Exim, Qmail or Postfix.

There are three methods to install masqmail on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install masqmail Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install masqmail using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove masqmail

To remove masqmail configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge masqmail
