What is mangohud

mangohud is:

A modification of the Mesa Vulkan overlay, including GUI improvements with HUD configuration, temperature reporting, and logging capabilities. Includes a script (mangohud) to start it on any OpenGL or Vulkan application. To get data for Nvidia GPUs, you need to install libxnvctrl0.

There are three methods to install mangohud on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install mangohud Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install mangohud using apt-get by running the following command:
