What is janino

janino is:

Janino is a compiler that reads a Java expression, block, class body, source file or a set of source files, and generates Java bytecode that is loaded and executed directly. Janino is not intended to be a development tool, but an embedded compiler for run-time compilation purposes, e.g. expression evaluators or embedded code as with JSP.

This package contains the janinoc tool.

There are three methods to install janino on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install janino Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install janino using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install janino

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install janino using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install janino

Install janino Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
