How To Install gwama on Ubuntu 22.04
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install gwama on Ubuntu 22.04.
What is gwama
gwama is:
GWAMA (Genome-Wide Association Meta Analysis) software performs meta-analysis of the results of GWA studies of binary or quantitative phenotypes. Fixed- and random-effect meta-analyses are performed for both directly genotyped and imputed SNPs using estimates of the allelic odds ratio and 95% confidence interval for binary traits, and estimates of the allelic effect size and standard error for quantitative phenotypes. GWAMA can be used for analysing the results of all different genetic models (multiplicative, additive, dominant, recessive). The software incorporates error trapping facilities to identify strand alignment errors and allele flipping, and performs tests of heterogeneity of effects between studies.
There are three methods to install gwama on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install gwama Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install gwama using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install gwama
Install gwama Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install gwama using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install gwama
Install gwama Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install gwama using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install gwama
How To Uninstall gwama on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the gwama package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove gwama
Uninstall gwama And Its Dependencies
To uninstall gwama and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove gwama
Remove gwama Configurations and Data
To remove gwama configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge gwama
Remove gwama configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove gwama configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge gwama
